Students & Staff Host "Red, White and Back the Blue Rally" for Recent Red Ribbon Week

One elementary school’s passion for law enforcement is so loud and strong it might warrant a call to the local authorities. But that wasn't needed, since more than a dozen local police officers were on hand as honored guests at Rummel Creek Elementary’s special Red, White and Back the Blue spirit rally.

Students Paint the Streets at Via Colori Festival Last Weekend

Chalk it up to young artists! Grace Winburne of Memorial High and Kira Slentz of Spring Woods High were chosen as Via Colori Street Painting Festival student artists. They created their artwork this past weekend at the free downtown festival near Houston City Hall.

Five Students Win Photo Contest Awards

Five photography students from Stratford High School have earned state-level awards in the fall contest sponsored by the Association of Texas Photography Instructors (ATPI). Eighty-five Texas high schools submitted more than 6,000 entries for the annual competition.

Radio Station, Credit Union Surprise a Ridgecrest Elementary Teacher

Local radio station HOT 95-7 and the Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union (GCEFU) teamed up to surprise Ridgecrest Elementary School third-grade teacher Rafael Carballo with a $500 cash award.
